Road trip

We have made it to upstate new york at this point and the driving hasn't been too bad. We've driven through some heavy rain and lightening but nothing too crazy. We did stop off at cedar point to spend some time riding the best roller coasters. If you ever are in the area and you appreciate a good coaster then you have to get there early and it is best to go on a weekday to avoid the heavy crowds. But the four best coasters in my opinion are:

1) millenium force - it has a nasty drop and the ride lasts more than 30 seconds so it is fast and furious..just the way I like them.

2) maverik - voted the best roller coaster in 2007 it definitely lives up to the billing. With speed and unpredictability it keeps you guessing at every turn.

3) dragster - definitely one of the most visually intimidating rides, it only lasts about 10 sec. It shoots you out at 121 mph and you v climb straight up in the air and back down. Awesomee

4) magnum- an unassuming ride but it surprised us the whole way through. Lots of fun.

Randomness...

Friday was my last day of work for the next 2 years!!  I mean...last day of corporate America.  What I do with WestLoop Photography is a wholey separate endeavor that is more of a passion than anything else.  But I finished working my marketing job at a subprime lending institution that I had been working at for 2+ years.  What a relief!  I mean, I liked the people for the most part, it was just the failing business economy mixed with poor business planning that really got to me.  In the end though, it was an invaluable experience that I will take with me into the next phase of life!  SCHOOL!!

Yup...I'm going back to SCHOOL!  MBA program at Babson College in Boston!  It's gonna be wild!  I went searching for a backpack online the other day...it brought back some crazy memories.  Remember the pencil holders and notebooks and hardcover books.  I can almost smell my old backpack.  Anybody else have the old Eddie Bauer backpacks that were given a lifetime warranty?

So what is keeping my time occupied now??  Well..travel!  I'm in Dallas this week..Mexico the next and then it's time for the big move out east!  For now, Dallas is nice.  First time here.  It was great in the early morning, but it is really HOT now!  It's to be 101 F tomorrow which is going to be interesting when I'm out on the golf course!

I also got to visit Josh and Mary Ellen Deen's newborn baby, Grace.  What an amazing site to see such a small human life in your hands.  She was a very alert baby and was even supporting her own head at 3 weeks!  That's fairly fast.  Has this gotten me interested in having my own child?  Mmmmmm....NO!  Cute...but I'm not interested at this point...maybe in the near future..but definitely not now.

Well, ya'll, hopefully I'll be able to update some pics on here.  Haven't been good at updating, but with these few days off AND....drumroll...my new IPHONE coming in, we can figure out a way to update more frequently.

"Working" the day away

Anybody have any ideas of how to waste my day today?  I have 2 more days and no work to do...so anything interesting to read, watch, surf..whatever..I need it sent my way because I'm absolutely BORED!

But on the bright side, I'm getting paid!  BOOM!

Triathlon Training...

oh goodness..every year I tell myself I"m going to train harder to lower my time..but I never do.  I am either caught up in work or other activities that I just don't have the time to train as hard as I like.  My first and only triathlon this season will be next weekend....it's gonna suck!

I haven't jumped in a pool yet....Rode my bike maybe 5 times this year...and ran on a treadmill and maxing out at 3 miles...yeah..anyone know CPR and would like to come to my aide?  preferably a female... =P

How is everyone else's summer resolutions going?  Have you gotten to the beach as often as you like?  Go to the baseball games?  Invite ppl over for some bbq?

1/2 of summer is nearly gone!   Make sure you make the most of it (only applicable to ppl east of Nevada/Arizona) because you know who....shhhh...don't say his name....is coming (Old Man Winter).
